Dime City Report

I just wanted to give a little love and a BIG “THUMBS UP” to the whole crew at Dime City Motorcycles and the race crew!   Not only did they do the entire safety wring on the Orange Bike, but actually saved the whole bike from becoming part of the towering inferno the hit the building next to World Famous Dime City race shop!

Shot of the race shop post fire…you cannot smell the smoke, but it is there!

This is the second fire the boys have had in the race shop building in 3 weeks, the first burned the door on the shop and this one was in the business next door.      It seems that something in the paint shop at the cabinet maker next door caught fire.    Lucky for all, the race shop guys were still working after hours.       One the crew noticed the wall to the next building was a little warm and then noticed the SMOKE!    Of course at that time the only thing to do was yell “FIRE” and alert the Fire Department!  Which they did and the Largo Fire Department was there in under 4 minutes!

This is the wall next shared with cabinet maker next door.  The light you see at the top center of the photo is the hole the fire burned in the wall!  You can see they were lucky!

At this point all the crew started to run, carry push  all 30 or so bikes across the street and put them safely into the Dime City Cycles warehouse.   I have it from my spies that Scotty Turner actually carried the Orange Bike personally on his back across the street to save it from the flames.   I don’t know if all this true, but that is what I heard!

The Orange Bike safe and sound in the Dime City warehouse where Scott Turner carried it!

Just to prove they are open for business, I bought these spiffy new racing boots for Bonneville!

Dime City Cycle is still very much in business and shipping stuff for Café Racers and bike builders all over the world.      Nothing in their warehouse was damaged, which is good.  So order stuff to your hearts content!
